Cleaning is very simple, for the most part, just using a damp cloth to clean the floor.
You can use diluted windex, approx 1/4 cup to a gal of water or dishwashing detergent, 2 TBLS to a gal of water.
Do not use Murphys Oil Soap
It is recommended that your hardwood floor be Recoated periodically. This should be done before the floor looks like it needs it. Chances are if you wait till it really looks bad the floor will need to be sanded. Generally every 3 to 5 years the floor should get recoated. This is a one day process and should elliminate most of the surface scratches.
This also holds true for prefinished floors.
Use 1/8 inch masonite and a dolly to move appliances and heavy furniture. Never drag something on a piece of carpet. When using masonite be sure the smooth side is down, the texture could leave an impression in the finish.
